  • Last Tuesday, it was an honor to watch and hang with funk legend (and the most sampled drummer in hip-hop) Mike Clark at BB Kings in NYC. Art Verdi, Mike and I were talking drums and having a great time! Mike made waves back in the 70's as the drummer for Herbie Hancock. Now he plays a lot with Rob Wasserman, who plays with Bob Weir (Grateful Dead). You have to see him groove live!

  • Began bi-weekly segments for Drumradio.com - A terrific drum radio show in NYC! Drummers - you must check this show out! Other regulars include legends Carmine Appice (who influenced Bonham), Dom (enough said), Sam Ulano (author of thousands of books), Art Verdi (formerly - world's fastest drummer) and Johnny Rabb (Tanya Tucker). Currently up is the tribute to the great Elvin Jones.

  • Presented at the NJ Music Educators State Conference again at the Hilton in East Brunswick on February 20th! It was a GREAT time - Thanks so much to all the 50+ NJ teachers who attended - and for all the good questions. The topic was Teaching Flam Rudiments. To add a new twist this year, I played along with a live version of the Allman Brother's "Southbound", then a funky/dance 70's medley (to include "Shake your Body Down to the Ground") at the end! Thanks also to Noah Fried & Mike Galvin for their assistance, tech support & photography. Pics will be up soon. I wrote a Flam Guide and compiled a corresponding exercise handout. Please e-mail for a copy.

  • An article appeared in Modern Drummer magazine in the June issue! I wont tell you what it's about - You have to buy the issue to find out! (If you're a drummer, you should already subscribe to this excellent magazine!)

  • Will be writing a monthly article for a newsletter. Read my article "Believing in a New Room" in the January 2004 newsletter, and subscribe to the newsletter at Knowledge Sanctuary!

  • Tony, Fred & I performed up in Bethel, NY in August. It was great fun! We got to play and dedicate "Hey Joe" to the partner (who was side stage) of Noel Redding, who was Jimi Hendrix's bassist - This was an honor! Noel recently passed on, but not before recording some of rock's greatest hits.

  • We will be aired on radio, WDFH, 90.3, live from Mercy College on Oct. 11 and 13th. Denmark Radio Host DJ Kjell Andreassen of 97.4, Radio Holstebro, aired our version of "Parchmen Farm" on September 9th.
