"Walk This Way" by Aerosmith, a Classic Drum Intro by Joey Kramer

Aerosmith "Walk This Way" Drum Intro

Most people seem to immediately recognize Joey Kramer's classic 2 measure drum intro!

The song was the second single from the 1975 album Toys in the Attic, and written by Steven Tyler and Joe Perry. One of many hit singles for the band in the 70's, it peaked at Number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 in early 1977. The song was inspired from the Mel Brooks movie, Young Frankenstein. The beat is in Chapter 17 of Drumopedia though not directly stated (and without the opening on the hi-hat on 1 and closing it on "&" of 1!)

Playing "Walk This Way" drum intro at Cape Breton International Drum Fest in "Name that Beat" (at around 1:05) to Have Fun with The Drumming Audience. Just watch how QUICKLY the audience yells out "Aerosmith" and voices the guitar part!":
